Is there a deadline for the MESA application?
No, there is no deadline for the MESA application. We accept applications on a rolling basis.
Can I join mesa if i am part of another student support program?
Yes, you can join MESA if you are part of another student support program, such as ANNAPISI, Umoja, Puente and TRiO SSS. If you have any questions or need any further information about MESA, please do not hesitate to contact the MESA Staff.
Eligibility:
You may be eligible for MESA if you meet a variety of the following requirements:
- Underrepresented in STEM fields | African American, Latinx/Hispanic, American Indian/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and women students.
- First-generation college students (parents did not receive a four year bachelor’s degree).
- Students at an economic disadvantage.
- U.S. citizens, resident aliens, permanent residents, DACA approved, DACA eligible, HB 1079/WASFA eligible and undocumented students.
- No previous bachelor’s degree earned.
Once it is determined that you are eligible to be a part of the MESA Program at Highline College, you will be asked to sign a student contract (link to PDF) with your commitment to the MESA Program. This contract will assist the MESA staff with ensuring each student stays on track academically and updated on.
