MESA serves underrepresented students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields with academic support and professional development. MESA provides rigorous academic enrichment services along with personal, financial aid, and transfer advising and professional development opportunities.
Our MESA Student Center offers students a dedicated space to study, access to computer workstations, industry guest speakers, workshops, advising, scholarships and internship resources.
All MESA students collaborate with the MESA Director and MESA Retention Coordinator on a personalized student success plan to support their success at Highline College and beyond.
ASEM serves the same function as MESA but is for students who might not meet all eligibility requirements for the MESA program. The ASEM program is a Highline College initiative to ensure underrepresented students who might be first generation or have certain financial difficulties are still provide with resources for advancement in STEM.
Our goal is for students to excel academically and successfully transfer to four-year institutions as STEM majors, and navigate career and employment opportunities.
The MESA Director and MESA Advisor and Retention Specialist will assist you with placement in either program.
